A world heritage site, the Serengeti National Park has over 2 million ungulates (hoofed animals), 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and 500 bird species! These animals inhabit an area of nearly 15,000 square kilometers.

Have you heard of The Great Migration?

You’ve probably heard of the circle of life from Disney’s The Lion King, but have you seen it or heard of it in action? Wildebeests in the Serengeti migrate in approximately 2 million as a herd to find greener grass in an area to birth calves and keep an eye on local predators.

These wildebeests constantly have to keep a lookout for lions and hyenas that look to feed on calves. This is particularly one of the obstacles that wildebeests have to go through along with many more. After the drought in May, the wildebeests migrate north to the Masai Mara River in Kenya but that isn’t the most difficult part. They have to pass through over 3,000 crocodiles patiently waiting to kill, and the massive lion population in the Serengeti on their collaborative hunt.
